Azerbaijan, Baku, August 2 /Trend, I.Izzet/

The elections in Azerbaijan should be conducted at the highest European level, the Chairman of Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said in connection with the completion of specialized courses on election law held for the chairmen of District Election Commissions (DECs) on Friday.

"You, the chairmen of District Election Commissions (DECs) should take all steps in accordance with the legislation, in order to correctly and objectively demonstrate the choice of the Azerbaijani public. The processes related to this, can already be considered as launched," he said.

According to Panahov, the chairmen of DECs possess sufficient knowledge, as well as experience on election law.

Various events with the participation of DEC chairmen and international organizations will continue after these courses, Panahov added.

"The trainings for election commissions will be held in order to provide the compliance of voting process to the requirements of Electoral code on election day. Here, they will be clearly shown how to count votes, carry out the documentation process and other things," the head of CEC noted.

"The preparation for elections and implementation of steps at the necessary level in this direction, is the duty of Precinct election commissions. As the impression about the elections is formed on the basis of organization of the voting in polling stations," Panahov noted.

According to the chairman of CEC, it is impossible to conduct the process that involves millions of people perfectly. According to Panahov, no one is immune to unpleasant cases. But the duty of the polling stations is to carry out necessary educational work, so that nearly 30,000 members of election commissions could professionally coup with their duties.

"The requirements of the Electoral code should be carried out without any discussion. If we achieve this, then we will fulfill all our obligations to the country alongside with absolute fulfillment of obligations to the Azerbaijani nation," Panahov noted.

All necessary technical conditions have been provided for the precinct election commissions for transferring the results of voting to the center, Panahov said.

Then Panahov handed the relevant certificates of attendance to the chairmen of DECs.

Specialized courses on election law for the members of DECs and precinct election commissions will be held from August 5 to August 7, the deputy chairman of CEC, Namiq Mammadov noted.

The CEC will be represented by the members of 22 groups at these courses, each member of which will speak in 5-6 precincts.
