By Elchin Mehdiyev – Trend:

Recent attacks of the Syrian regime in Idlib province concern everyone, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told reporters.

Cavusoglu made the remark in Baku following an extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the member-states of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council), Trend reports.

“As a result of attacks, more than 2,000 civilians were killed,” the foreign minister added.

"The numerous meetings were held with Russia and Iran in a trilateral format in connection with this issue,” Cavusoglu said. “We expect Russia to contribute to the cessation of the attacks of the Syrian regime. We are holding the discussions with Russia in this sphere."

The foreign minister said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed this issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a telephone conversation.

“We are currently waiting for the visit of the Russian delegation to Turkey,” Cavusoglu said. “Later, a meeting of the presidents of the two countries may be held. The ceasefire in Idlib is violated by the Syrian regime. Our patience is not unlimited. If the Syrian regime does not stop the attacks, we will be forced to take measures.”
