The air flight Baku-Nijniy Novgorod вЂ"Baku will facilitate more development of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, the State Concern AZAL general representative in Russia Eldar Hadjiyev told Trend at the special ceremony in Nijniy Novgorod.
According to him, taking into account that Nijniy Novgorod is the third large city in the Russian Federation after Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, and that exactly in this city a considerable number of the Azerbaijanis live, opening of the flight is very expedient.
The first flight of the route Baku-Nijniy Novgorod вЂ"Baku took place on 21 December at 12.00 a.m. The flight has been performed by the airliner Airbus-319 by the international Airbus Industries aviation concern. AZAL has acquired already 3 such aircrafts, which operate on international airlines.
Earlier AZAL performed air flights to Nijniy Novgorod, which was suspended and till now the flight has been performed by В"Tataristan Hava YollariВ".
В"In 2006 AZAL plans to open direct flights to some Russian cities, in particular, to Saint-Petersburg and Samara”, the AZAL spokesman said.
