We hope that the Action Plan between European Union and Azerbaijan within the European Neighborhood Policy will be adopted within a short time, Peter Semneby, the special envoy of European Union on South Caucasian countries, told journalists on July 20, Trend reports.
He noted that he held talks with Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov. The key topic of the meeting was dedicated to the future cooperation between European Union and Azerbaijan and the questions of agreeing the aspects of the action plan.
Besides, the diplomats stressed that discussions were also held on the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. EU supports the peaceful solution of the conflict and is ready to assist the sides, told European envoy.
Semneby pointed out that he also held meeting with the Azerbaijani deputy foreign minister Araz Azimov and the head of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh Nizami Bahmanov, the ambassadors of EU countries in Azerbaijan and the head of the Baku Office of Supreme Refugees Commissariat.
