Entrance Examinations in Azerbaijan in 2007-2008 Academic Year Will be Held in Accordance with New Model

The entrance examinations in Azerbaijan in 2007-2008 academic year will be held in accordance with a new model, the Chairman of the State Commission for Student Admission of Azerbaijan (SCSA), Maleyka Abbaszade told a Press-Conference on October 13, Trend reports.

She stressed that basing on the scientific-statistical researches in SCSA held within 14-year activity period, meeting the demands of Bologna process and considering the recommendations of the U.S. Education Test Service, it was decided to apply this model to accelerate the integration process to the modern world education system.

According to the new model, the specialties will be divided into 4 groups, and the 5th group will be liquidated. The specialties of pedagogics and psychology will be transferred from 5th to 3rd group, and the sociology will be in the 2nd group. In 2008 psychology will be transferred to the 4th group, Abbaszade emphasized.

According to her, next year the entrants will pass exams over 5 subjects. Generally 120 test questions will be presented. The four key subjects will comprise of 25 questions, and the additional 5th subject 20 questions.

Next academic year, the additional subject for Russian sector will be Azeri language.

In addition, Abbaszade underlined that there will be no limitations in the blanks in 2007 entrance examinations.
