Today, Azerbaijan is celebrating The Day of Power Engineering Specialists. Etibar Pirverdiyev, President of Azerenerji JSC told during the today's solemn arrangement on the occasion of The day of Power Engineering Specialists, that a number of serious scale works aimed at constructing new energy generating capacities are being carried out now, Trend reports.
Particularly, according to him, the construction of the module electric power stations in Astara and Shaki Districts of Azerbaijan has been already completed.
The construction of the analogous module stations is expected to be completed in Khachmaz, Nakhchivan, and Baku very soon. Azerenerji is expected to complete the construction of the combined-cycle plant of the capacity of 506 РњWatt in Sumgayit in the next year, and the combined-cycle plant of the capacity of 400 РњWatt in the electric power station Shimal (North), he told.
Today, the power engineering specialists were awarded with the orders Shohrat (Fame) and the medals Taraggi (Progress) in accordance to the corresponding order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Azerbaijan first launched generating electric power in 1873. In 1915, Azerbaijan took the third place in the possessing of power generating capacities. Azerenerji was established in 1935, and this year, the Company celebrates the 71st year of its activity.
