During today's meeting held in Baku, with Rovnag Abdullayev, the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Franc Walter Steinmeier, Germany's Federal Foreign Minister, stated that Germany believes in Azerbaijan with regards to the issue of diversification of power sources and gas pipelines, Trend reports.
During the meeting, perspectives of carrying energy carriers via the pipelines вЂ" BTC (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan) and SCP (South-Caucasian Gas Pipeline) were discussed by the parties. According to the German Minister, it is necessary to expand business relations between SOCAR and German companies engaging in oil production, refinery and oil equipment delivery.
Mr. Steinmeier noted that German companies engaged in the energy sector were interested in their co-operation with SOCAR.
The SOCAR President stated that relations between Azerbaijan and Germany became more developed and the joint activity in the oil and gas sector played a key role in this issue.
