Bai Ling's Arrest: Her Friend Explains All

( Accecss Hollywood )- What was Bai Ling thinking when she allegedly shoplifted two - not one - Star magazines and two packs of AAA batteries from an airport store yesterday? Well, don't ask Bai Ling.

After calling the actress for an explanation, her friend Damon Elliott phoned to say that Ling, on the eve of Valentine's Day, "had big problems with her [unidentified] boyfriend," causing her to have a "cloudy state of mind" and become "distracted" enough into allegedly taking a five-fingered discount at the Crews of California gift shop in Los Angeles International Airport.

A store employee made a citizens arrest of the star as she exited the shop without paying for the merchandise, valued at approximately $16. LAX Airport Police then took Ling to the Pacific Station, where she was booked for misdemeanor shoplifting and released after a few hours of being held.

Ling, Elliott recounted, was in LAX en route to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she was slated to begin work on the Taylor Hackford film, "Love Ranch," starring Oscar winners Joe Pesci and Helen Mirren as a couple who opened the first legal brothel in Nevada. Ling plays a prostitute.

Before Ling, who left for Albuquerque this morning, was busted, she kept busy blogging in the airport terminal.

"Windering [sic] if the chinese [sic] new year ended and people are rushing in the cold wind to work now? Life is a sad song sometime [sic] but still sings the beauty for their loved ones," Bai Ling wrote on her blog, along with posting a picture of herself sitting in the terminal.

Incredibly, "The Crow" star made no mention today of her arrest when she went back to blogging, wishing her readers a happy Valentine's Day.

"It is a beautiful day for lovers, for romace [sic], beauty mystry [sic] dancing in the light of the sexy red wine......hope you are somewhere with your special one who is close to your heart and give [sic] you the joy of love....."

Ling is scheduled to appear in court on March 5.
