Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 26 / Trend , R.Ergun/ Zaur Ramazanov, the Footballer of the Year, believes that Garabag club will successfully perform in the second round of the Azerbaijani Premier League.
"Our performance was weak in the first rounds of the Premier League. However, the club increased its opportunities by performing successfully in the last rounds. I think, if three or four new footballers are transferred to the club, we will perform more successfully in the second round," Ramazanov said to Trend on Dec. 26.
The forward, left Khazar-Lankaran club for Garabag in Aug. 2008.
The footballer said that Garabag has more opportunities to be champion.
Ramazanov assessed Garabag's chance for championship as 80%.
Garabag finished the first round of the Premier League at the seventh place with 24 points.
Footballer of Year Ramazanov believes that he has gained this name because of his successful performance in 2008.
"This year has been successful for me. Early 2008, I won the Commonwealth Cup with Khazar-Lankaran. We gained the Azerbaijani Cup in May. Although I did not perform successfully at the beginning of the Premier League, then I gradually improved my performance in the last rounds. If fans voted for me, I deserve it," Ramazanov said.
Ramazanov has been elected the Footballer of the Year with 65% of votes in the poll conducted by Trend News Agency jointly with Komanda newspaper.
