Today, the Azerbaijani Mugam Theater hosted a presentation of Azerbaijani poet Vali Ahmad's book titled "I gave my heart to poetry" that was dedicated to his 70th anniversary.
Azerbaijan's younger generation will have an opportunity to familiarize with Ahmad's poetry via this book, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva, who is the author of the book's preface, told journalists.
"Although the poet was born and worked in the Tovuz region, his work is much more enlightened beyond the Tovuz region," she said. "Ahmed was engaged in pedagogical activity and educated a number of intellectuals."
Previously, seven books have been published, but they could not fully cover the author's creativity. This edition has collected his unpublished manuscripts and poems.
Book's editor Akbar Goshaly said Ahmad's verses reflect not only the thoughts of one person, but also trouble, compassion, joy and sorrow of all Azerbaijani and Turkish peoples.
Vali Ahmed was born in the village Govlar in the Tovuz region in 1939. He was teaching the Azerbaijani language and literature for almost 42 years. Ahmad was a member of the Azerbaijani Writers Union and winner of the "Golden Pen "award. Poet Vali Ahmed died Aug. 11, 2009.
