Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 7 / Trend T.Hajiyev /

Azerbaijan considers the state agencies' proposals over amendments to the law on the "Bases of call-up", member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Security and Defense and the Republican Draft Board, Siyavush Novruzov told Trend.

"Several structures submitted proposals associated with the basics of military service. After the adoption of the Azerbaijani military doctrine, certain laws related to the war and calling for the army and the law on the "basis of call-up" must be consistent with this doctrine," Novruzov said.

The changes will be announced in the press following their review at the state agencies, he added.

The Azerbaijani Education Ministry has offered to grant deferment of military service to bachelors who enroll into magistracy. Proposals have been prepared by the ministry to amend the law on the "basis of call-up", Education Minister Misir Mardanov told Trend earlier.

The ministry has proposed to abandon the practice of conscription of bachelors enrolled in the magistracy until the completion of their studies.

At present, bachelors enrolled in the magistracy continue their education after starting military service.

The current law was adopted in 1992.
