Azerbaijan will commission 24 new schools and one new school building in 2011, the Education Ministry's Construction Department Chief Allahverdi Demirov said at the ministry's meeting.
According to him, currently construction of these schools is underway.
Demirov said that in 2010 Azerbaijani Education Ministry built 27 new schools, new building of a school, repaired 356 schools and 32 preschool institutions.
About 170,000 teachers work in 4,552 public schools in Azerbaijan. More than 1.42 million pupils study there. About 1,005 teachers work in 17 private schools.
