Conditions of conscription can be changed in Azerbaijan due to transition to 12-year education committee member of the Parliament of Azerbaijan on Security and Defence Zahid Oruj told Trend.
Oruj noted that in the case of the transition to 12-year education students will graduate from high school in 18 years.
"It means that the conditions of conscription will be changed. What higher education will make in this case, how the education system will be organized? Extensive public hearings on this issue must be held first and then the solution must be proposed to the Parliament," Oruj said.
Oruj noted that the decision to move to 12-year education will be made not just by one ministry or government body. The transition to such a system requires a broad public debate.
Oruj also noted that deferment isn't given to those who wish to continue their education after the graduation from university. Deferral is given only once. It is necessary to clarify how this issue will be regulated.
