Azerbaijan, France discuss youth and sports cooperation (PHOTO)
Baku, Azerbaijan, May 13
Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov met with French Minister of Women's Rights, Urban Affairs, Youth and Sport Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, the ministry said on May 12.
Rahimov stressed that Azerbaijan is preparing for the first European Games and expressed confidence that the French sportsmen, who will visit Baku in 2015, will be pleased.
Rahimov also appreciated the constant development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and France. The minister stressed that the friendly relations between Azerbaijani First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and Najat Vallaud-Belkacem give an impetus to the implementation of major projects in the field of sports and youth of both countries.
Then Rahimov informed the attendees about the state policy in this area.
He added that Forum of Young Scholars will be held in Baku in a few days, which will bring together 1,100 participants from 95 countries. The minister urged the French youth to be active in this regard.
The guest expressed gratitude to Rahimov for the warm reception. She stressed that she is interested in the first European Games and is willing to cooperate in the sports.
Najat Vallaud-Belkacem also said that she wants to get acquainted with the Olympic facilities which are under construction.
