Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 13.

Illegal acts in Azerbaijan's Siyazan, Lankaran, Fizuli, Aghjabadi and Agsu districts are aimed at disturbing public order, which was found out as a result of an initial investigation, said Prosecutor General's Office and Interior Ministry in a joint statement Jan. 13.
"The illegal acts were organized by the activists of the Popular Front and Musavat parties, as well as some radical and religious extremist groups," read the statement.
During a Cabinet of Ministers' meeting held Jan. 10 under chairmanship of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, heads of relevant structures were tasked to mitigate the negative impact of the manat's devaluation due to a sharp decline in oil prices and the global financial and economic crisis.
The government was tasked to further develop non-oil sector as soon as possible, strengthen financial supervision, improve the business environment, eliminate artificial barriers to the development of entrepreneurship, increase wages, pensions and other social payments, fully implement all social programs and take other important measures.
"However, at a time when an intensive work is carried out in this direction, some destructive forces took advantage of the difficult situation that has emerged due to objective reasons, and tried to disrupt the political stability in the country," read the joint message.
Thus, a group of residents of Siyazan district organized a march in the city's central avenues and streets Jan. 12-13, which was inconsistent with laws, said the statement.
The statement also said that 55 people were detained while committing the illegal act in Siyazan.
