The atmosphere at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku is simply unique, winner at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Baku in the rings exercise, Turkish athlete Ibrahim Colak told Trend Feb. 21.

"I perform on this arena for the second time," he said. "I have been here for the European Games, so I'm very familiar with this unique atmosphere on this arena. But I would like to say that despite the fact that this is not my first performance here, I was excited."

The Turkish gymnast admitted that winning the gold seems to have exhausted all of his fatigue.
"I'm a little tired, but at the same time, I'm very happy," he said. "This is my best result in the World Cups in gymnastics. I would like to wish good luck to my teammates, who will be also performing soon. Besides, I would like to thank the audience and fans for their support."

Colak won the gold medal at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics in Baku in rings event, having scored 15.450 points. Japanese gymnast Kazuma Kaya won the silver medal, having scored 14,800 points, while Azerbaijani gymnast Oleg Stepko captured the bronze medal with 14,700 points.

The FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics kicked off in Baku Feb. 19 and is to end Feb. 21. As many as 45 male and 22 female gymnasts compete for medals in apparatus finals of the World Challenge Cup.
