BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. Three people have been arrested after the explosion in a Baku nightclub, Trend reports citing Prosecutor General's Office.
The Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office is investigating a criminal case on explosion in the capital's Location nightclub which resulted in one death, 37 people injured, as well as damage to 14 cars, one apartment and two non-residential objects.
Based on preliminary evidence, it was established that a gas cylinder filled with compressed propane gas was illegally used in the kitchen.
During the investigation, Rasul Rasulov, who is responsible for compliance with fire safety rules, who works as an administrator at Merser food LLC, who rented the facility, was charged under article 225.2 (violation of fire safety rules that negligently caused the death of the victim or other grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, Orkhan Safarov, who is the founder of the LLC and the manager of the club - under Article 314.2 (negligence resulting in the death of the victim or other grave consequences).
At the same time, in view of the fact that during the investigation it was established that Ruslan Mammadov, the inspector of the 2nd Territorial State Fire Territorial Administration of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who was responsible for compliance with fire safety rules in the indicated territory, committed negligence in the performance of his duties, he was brought as an accused under Article 314.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
With regard to all three persons, by the decisions of the Binagadi district court, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
