BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan is implementing a number of measures to prevent the spread of monkeypox virus across the country's border at airports and other exit points across the state border, Trend reports with reference to the Committee.

Based on data from the World Health Organization, countries at risk for monkeypox have been identified, with particular attention being paid to passengers arriving from these countries.

The State Customs Service's Department of Health Services regularly conducts training for customs officers regarding particularly dangerous infections at state border exit points.

Available technical capabilities are being used to identify passengers with elevated temperatures at airports and other points of entry to the state border. The level of preparedness has been increased in connection with the preliminary medical examination of suspected patients and epidemiological investigation. Further actions upon identification of persons suspected of having the disease will be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units of Azerbaijan (TABIB) and relevant institutions in accordance with the "Instructions on anti-epidemic measures against especially dangerous infections at customs and border checkpoints of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
