The Azerbaijani Media Council (MC) held a report conference on the results of its activities for 2005 at the International Press Club on 27 January. Aflatun Amashov, the chairman of MC delivered a report on the activities of the organization, Trend reports.
The reports included decisions by MC, the statistic data on the meetings of the Complaints Commission, the financial state of the organization, the monitoring acts of journalist activities conducted during mass actions, the meetings with officials to solve problems with journalists, monitoring acts of newspapers, statistics data on violation of professional conduct of journalists.
During 2005 the Board of Directors of MC made 21 decisions on the base of the opinion of the Complaints Commission, admitted 11 newspapers, 2 magazines and 1 news agency. Besides, 3 newspapers, one magazine and one printing house were excluded from MC.
The report reflected events, held in the different regions of Azerbaijan and preparatory work of session of journalists. Members of the Board of Directors Bakhtiyar Sadigov and Gulu Maharramli, chairman of the Presidents Apparat Vugar Aliyev, chairman of the Boardcasting Council of Public TV Javanshir Mammadli also came out at the conference.
