At the moment, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and natural Resources carries out measures related to the fight with the pest insects in Ismayilli and Davachi districts, Trend reports quoting Rovshan Jalilov, the head of the department of development of forests.
According to Jalilov, the expansion of the dissemination of pest insects was prevented in around 5 thousand ha of the territories of the districts such as Shamakhi, Ismayilli and Khizi.
Taking into consideration the high prognosis of April on dissemination of pest insects in 100 thousand ha in 2006, the ministry appealed to the state head and in result more than 1 million manats were disbursed to the measures within the fight, said Jalilov.
In result of the measures taken by the ministry and its departments, the increase of pest insects in 2 thousand ha forest territory in Davachi and Ismayilli was prevented.
In general, more than 34 million AZM was spent on the measures of the ministry
within the fight with insects in 2005. This amount was estimated at 2,6 million AZM manats in 2004.
