German Herrenknecht company’s tunnel-boring machine has been used to carry out construction work in the Tashkent Metro, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan Railways.
This machine not only performs tunneling, but at the same time strengthens the underground passage. The finished concrete tunnel consists of tubings, which are separate segments of a tunnel ring. These prefabricated fasteners are now made by the Uzbek specialists.
The new reinforced concrete plant at UE Trust Kuprikkurilish has started the tubing production and is increasing it.
Currently, construction and installation work is underway at the new Yangi Yunusobod and Turkiston metro stations.
Tubing is a metal or reinforced concrete curved plate used for waterproof fastening of mines and tunnels. It consists of 6 parts and forms the annular corridor when connected. The width of the ring is 1.5 meters, the inner diameter is 5.1 meters, and the outer size is 5.62 meters.
