There is a trend towards a reduction in the number of mass attacks around the entire world, Mushvig Mammadov, the official representative of Kaspersky Lab in Azerbaijan, told Trend.
According to Mammadov, the uniqueness of malware is also increasing worldwide.
"It is safe to say that we will hear more news about ransomware attacks on businesses, as evidenced by incidents in the US," he added.
"Attackers are becoming more sophisticated, and their methods are less visible," the expert said.
"If we talk about complex targeted attacks, then we can identify the following changes: attackers increase the set of their targets, including industrial organizations, and the geography of attacks is also expanding. Complex attacks on supply chains continue, and it is safe to say that we will hear more news about ransomware attacks on businesses - the incidents in the US are vivid evidence of this. Therefore, we urge companies to understand the dangers of malware infection and to take all necessary protective measures," the Kaspersky Lab representative noted.
"The process of ensuring security at such facilities is very difficult. Updating software (software) in industrial enterprises is often slower than in the corporate segment. Objective obstacles for this are difficulties with compatibility with other, especially specialized software, long-term use of equipment, inability to stop production," Mammadov said.
