The turnover of the catering sector in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku grew in real terms in 2021, the Baku Statistical Department told Trend.
According to the department, this figure amounted to 643.6 million manat ($378.6 million), up by 29.2 percent compared to 2020.
At the same time, the share of legal entities in this area amounted to 75.1 percent with a turnover of 483.1 million manat ($284.1 million), and thereby increasing by 216.2 million manat ($127.1 million), or 44.75 percent on annual basis.
In 2020, the turnover of the catering sector in Baku decreased by 59.4 percent in real terms compared to 2019 and amounted to 476.2 million manat ($280.1 million).
Last year, 55.5 percent of the catering turnover in the private sector accounted for legal entities, 44.5 percent - for individuals. Meanwhile, the turnover of legal entities decreased by 45 percent over the year and amounted to 266.9 million manat ($157 million).
