BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The trade surplus of Azerbaijan increased from January through February 2022, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, this figure exceeded $3.8 billion, up by $2.5 billion on annual basis.

The country's foreign trade turnover in the first two months of this year exceeded $7.7 billion (given the statistical value of crude oil and natural gas, the customs clearance of which hasn’t been fully completed), of which over $5.8 billion accounted for export, and more than $1.9 billion - for import.

The legal entities and individuals in Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with partners from 139 countries in the reporting period.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported its products to 91 countries while imported goods from 130 countries.

The foreign trade turnover in real prices rose by 1.7 times, and in real terms - by 12.8 percent, including imports - by 1.8 percent, and export - by 18.8 percent compared to 2M2021.

Besides, according to the committee, 92.8 percent of the foreign trade turnover in the first two months of this year accounted for Italy, Turkey, Russia, China, Germany, Ukraine, Croatia, Israel, Spain, Georgia, India, UK, Portugal, Tunisia, US, Iran, Belarus, Switzerland, Canada, Greece, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Austria.
