BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Oil tanker deliveries from Turkmenistan through Azerbaijan from January through June 2022 increased from 644,000 tons to 1.1 million tons, Trend reports, citing Argus, an international independent pricing agency.

"The largest volume of the Turkmen raw materials has been transported through Azerbaijani terminals for subsequent deliveries since March via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline (BTC). Shipments of Turkmen oil in this direction were carried out by Dutch Vitol, while raw material was pumped from Russia’s Makhachkala to Novorossiysk through the "Transneft" system," the report said.

In addition to Okarem and Cheleken oil from Eni Turkmenistan and Dragon Oil, the Kiyanla blend was also exported through Azerbaijan from the resources of Petronas and Napeco.

In general, on the back of oil production decrease, Turkmen exports of raw materials over the first half of the current year decreased by 22 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 - from 1.37 million tons to 1.77 million tons of oil.
