BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 28. Azerbaijan has become a very important energy partner for Europe, Petar Stoyanov, ex-president of Bulgaria, told Trend.
“Azerbaijan is going to play a very important role as an energy partner for Europe, especially in the face of the current energy crisis in Europe. Not only Bulgaria, but the whole Europe relies on future energy cooperation with Azerbaijan,” he said.
According to Stoyanov, the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Bulgaria in early October on the occasion of the launch of Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) was a huge and important event.
“The IGB is an extremely important project for our country, and everybody in Bulgaria realizes that. We have wonderful historic partnership and mutual understanding with Azerbaijan, and we respect each other very much. Azerbaijan and Bulgaria have a very promising future for cooperation,” he noted.
