Türkiye reveals cargo traffic from Ukraine via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. Turkish ports handled 8.01 million tons of cargo from Ukraine in January 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 388,044 tons of cargo from Ukraine, while ships under the flags of other countries – 7.39 million tons.

During this period, 231,481 tons of cargo were transshipped by Ukraine-flagged ships to Turkish ports. A total of 742,552 tons of transit freight was transported from Georgia to Turkish ports.

The domestic ports handled 31.99 million tons of freight in January 2023.

In the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Türkiye transshipped 1.908 million tons, whereas ships under the flags of other countries equaled 30.08 million tons.

A total of 6.497 million tons of transit freight were transferred by Turkish ports in January 2023.
