Azerbaijan names volume of loans issued in capital and regions

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 23. The volume of loans issued in the capital and regions of Azerbaijan on July 31, 2023, increased by 2 billion manat ($1 billion), or 15 percent year-on-year, amounting to 21 billion manat ($12 billion), Trend reports.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), loans in the amount of 16 billion manat ($9 billion) were issued in Baku during the specified period, which is three times higher than the total volume of loans issued in all regions of the country.

In Baku, loans in national currency accounted for 12 billion manat, or $7 billion (75 percent of the total volume of loans in Baku).

The average annual interest rate in the country was 12 percent; in Baku, it was 10 percent.
