BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Azerbaijan collected 48.6 million manat ($28.5 million) of insurance premiums on compulsory types of insurance from January through February this year, which is two percent less compared to the indicator of the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) statistical report, the number of payments on types of compulsory insurance for the reporting period amounted to 17.6 million manat ($10.3 million), which is 1.7 percent less than a year ago.
Thus, every 100 manat ($58.7) of contributions accounted for 36.2 manat ($21.2) of payments. This figure is 0.1 manat ($0.05) higher than a year ago.
Meanwhile, 17 insurance companies in Azerbaijan gathered 239.7 million ($140.8 million) manats of insurance premiums from January through February of the current year, which is 8.4 percent more compared to last year.
