ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 19. Serbia is a close and reliable partner of Kazakhstan on the Balkan Peninsula. Our friendship is based on mutual respect and support, said President Tokayev to the President of Serbia during a press briefing, Trend reports.
Following the high-level talks, the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Serbia addressed the media. At the beginning of his speech, President Tokayev expressed his sincere gratitude to Aleksandar Vučić for the invitation to visit Belgrade on an official visit and for the warm welcome, which reflected the traditions of the Serbian people.
"Our cooperation priorities include investments, industry, the mining sector, agriculture, and healthcare. Special attention was given to innovations and new technologies. The relevant authorities have been tasked with increasing the volume of mutual trade," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
President Tokayev also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Serbian people and to President Aleksandar Vučić personally for the financial assistance provided to Kazakhstan during the unprecedented floods in the spring of this year.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Serbia on winning the right to host Expo 2027 and invited President Aleksandar Vučić to visit Kazakhstan on an official trip next year.
In his statement to the press, Aleksandar Vučić highly praised the productive and substantive nature of the talks, which covered a wide range of issues.
"I sincerely thank my friend, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, for his significant contribution to strengthening cooperation with Serbia," said Aleksandar Vučić.
In conclusion, the President of Serbia expressed enthusiasm for his upcoming engagement in Astana and demonstrated a strong commitment to facilitating a reciprocal visit from the President of Kazakhstan to Belgrade in the near future.
As a follow-up of the talks, a number of agreements and memoranda were signed between the two countries, which will contribute to strengthening relations between Kazakhstan and Serbia.
