BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 23

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

APM Terminals Poti (Poti Seaport Corporation) and Poti New Terminals Corporation (PNTC) have signed an agreement to jointly develop a new terminal for dry and bulk cargo north of Georgian Poti seaport, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to APM Terminal, under the agreement, APM Terminals will invest in new shopping malls, 400-meter quays and earthworks at 13.5 meters depth, while Poti New Terminals Corporation will invest in dry and bulk cargo.

As reported, the implementation of the agreement depends on obtaining the appropriate building permits.

This is a very important step towards the ambitious goal of creating a world-class logistics infrastructure at the Poti seaport. This cooperation provides for the creation of a modern terminal for dry and bulk cargo, which will be able to handle various types of cargo on a special area of 25 hectares.

“The new infrastructure will make the cargo supply chain more efficient and less costly for local and regional cargo owners,” said the terminal.

As reported, the new dry and bulk cargo terminal will be built as part of the first phase of the port expansion plan and will provide additional capacity to handle up to 10 million tons of dry and bulk cargo, which will bring significant benefits to port users and overall logistics.
