Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.17 / Trend corr U. Ismayilova /
Azerbaijan will have certified realtors in the near future, Azerbaijani Realtors Association (ARA) President Vafadar Akhundov said on Feb.17.
"The certificates will testify to the quality of the services on the local market," Akhundov said.
He added that incompetent realtors are a major problem in the sector and hinder development.
Akhundov said the ARA hopes to analyze the market and form a uniform database for media outlets, state organizations, banks and insurance companies.
The database will facilitate the market's development, he said.
Akhundov said poor quality on the market inhibits international development and growth.
Azerbaijan only has a handful of organizations buying and selling real estate outside the country.
"Realtor activity is a profitable business. Unfortunately, conditions are lacking in Azerbaijan to develop the market," he said.
The co-founders of the ARA are the MBA Group, New Europe and Baki Emlak.
The association was registered at the Justice Ministry in October 2008.
