Mukhy Mukhiyev has been appointed the Turkmenistan State Fish Industry Committee's acting chairman, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov said in a decree.
Former Turkmenistan State Fish Industry Committee Chairman Toila Komekov was appointed deputy foreign minister and chairman of the Presidential Office State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea. Komek headed the committee since 2007.
Turkmenistan, along with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Iran, borders the Caspian Sea, which is rich in natural resources.
The fish industry in Turkmenistan is going through a period of renewal and modernization.
A modern fishing industry infrastructure is being created at the moment. New enterprises are being built and operating companies are being upgraded.
