In May, prices on building materials in Baku rose 5.8 percent, which is 5.7 percent drop from the beginning of the year and 44.5 percent from the same period of 2008, Participants of Property Market public union said.
"The rise came for the first time since the last eight months due to rise in oil prices on world markets," the organization said.
The prices on import building materials also increased. Monitoring was held on 38 brand and 87 types of materials. The monitoring revealed drop in price on thirteen types, price rise on 18 types and stabile price on 57 types. Share of home-produced construction materials made up 52.9 percent.
