In February, cost of living in Azerbaijan per capita made 148,8 manat, the Center for Economic Research said.

The cost of living for working people was 140.14 manat, for pensioners - 127.16 manat, children under 14 - 178.67 manat.

Last month, every able-bodied person has spent at least 79.37 manat, pensioners - 73,25 manat, children under 14 - 89,79 manat for food.

Costs of working people for non-food products totaled 35.33 manat, pensioners - 31,53 manat, children under 14 - 71.32 manat per month. Expenditure on services amounted to 25,3 manat, 22,38 manat, 17,56 manat respectively.

In 2010, the subsistence wage is 87 manat, for working people - 96 manat, pensioners - 68 manat, children - 72 manat.

According to "Center for Economic Research" NGO experts, every family of four people in Azerbaijan will spend about 108 manat due to spring holiday Nowruz (sweets, fruits, drinks, food).

In March 2010, the price for corn oil increased by 95.39 percent, sunflower oil - 13.79 percent, onions - 79.08 percent, potatoes - 55.58 percent, nuts - 46.72 percent, greens - 36,3 percent, walnuts - 29.83 percent, chestnuts - 25.66 percent, sugar - 25.38 percent, sugar - 18.19 percent, chicken eggs - 11,68 percent compared to 2009.

Prices for pears reduced by 19.12 percent, apples - 15,79 percent, black and green tea - 15.2 percent, white cabbage - 12,65 percent, fruit juices - 7.21 percent.

As of March 19, the official exchange rate is 0.8033 manat to $1.
