Tamiz Shahar opened a public information resource center on Monday. The center provides access to recent updates of legislative acts on environmental protection, modern literature on technology and information about methods of solid waste management.
"This center should contribute to the management of solid wastes in Baku, and it may be interesting for students, media and all interested individuals," Chief of the Project Management and PR Department Ogtay Mammadov said at the center's opening ceremony.
According to Mammadov, the list of books at the center will be continuously updated. The center provides literature in three languages -- Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
"The materials that are available at the center will enhance the training of young specialists," Chief of the Ecology Department Rauf Muradov added.
The center's main goal is to create opportunities to inform the public and students about solid waste management, as well as to assist NGOs, profile structures, specialists and ecologists in organizing and conducting various workshops, training events and meetings.
