Azerbaijani banks client base increases by 12 per cent in 2011

The number of customers of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 2,916,678 as of January 1, 2012, which is 12.7 per cent higher than at the end of 2010 and by 1.7 per cent more compared to November, 2011.

The number of customers amounted to 2,588,957 at the end of 2010, and 2,868,688 at the end of November 2011.

At the end of 2011, 2,831,807 individuals were customers of Azerbaijani banks, of which 53,175 are entrepreneurs. The growth of this category of clients was 13.5 per cent compared to late 2011 and 1.7 per cent compared to November 2011.

The number of clients who are legal professionals amounted to 84,871, which is 0.4 per cent less than in the end of November, 2011, and 10.3 per cent less compared to 2010.

The number of client accounts in Azerbaijani banks in 2011 amounted to 4,077,125 or 2.2 per cent more than figure of November 2011 and by 28.5 per cent compared to December 2010.
In the total the number of customer current accounts amount to 3,730,551, and deposit accounts 346,574.

In total the number of personal current accounts amounted to 3,604,632 of which business accounts amounted to 70,791. As of 2011, banks opened 125,919 accounts belonging to legal bodies.
