Azerbaijan, Turkey agree to expand cooperation in social sphere (PHOTO)

A protocol was signed at the end of the seventh session of the Standing Committee of the Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation in the field of Labor and Social Welfare in Baku on Thursday.

The protocol was signed by Ministers of Labor and Social Protection Fizuli Alekperov and Faruk Celik.

According to the protocol, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation and to continuation of the mutual exchange of experiences in a more efficient form on issues of labor, social protection, employment, migration, health and safety, labor inspection, preparation of professional standards, training, and provision of services to citizens working abroad.

Taking into account the changes made in recent years in the national legislation in the sphere of labor and social protection, the parties agreed to proceed the renewal of an intergovernmental agreement on social security signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey on July 17, 1998 in Ankara and agreement signed on May 6, 2004 in Baku on procedures for the application of this agreement.

The protocol identified areas of cooperation in sharing experiences and information in the application of the legislation in the sphere of labor, employment and labor migration research in the field of health and safety, inspection and supervision of compliance with labor laws, the mutual exchange of experience in the field of employment policy, the development of continuous training system including training and professional development, professional skills of unemployed and job seekers, institutional capacity building, training intra-ended working etc.
