In Kazakhstan, only 2 percent of ATMs are focused on multicurrency transactions, said a statement of Ranking.kz analytical service.

"Out of 9,100 ATMs of the country, only 164 issue funds in foreign currency," said a statement.

The majority of banks (24 of 38 second-tier banks) of Kazakhstan propose to open a payment card in a foreign currency. However, only five banks have multicurrency ATMs, according to the report.

The main functional of the multicurrency ATM is the possibility to withdraw money in a currency the payment card contains. Upon the receipt of funds in such ATMs, the client does not pay a fee for conversion and does not lose because of the difference in rates.

"The absolute leader in the number of such ATMs is a "duet" of banks KazKom + BTA Bank. They account for 76 percent of the country's all multi-currency ATMs (124)," said the statement.

They are followed by ATF Bank with 26 ATMs, Alliance and Temir with 14 ATMs.
