Azerbaijan exported goods worth $13.81 billion in 2017 that is by 51.1 percent more than in 2016, according to a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
The share of state sector in export totaled $8.83 billion, private sector – $4.8 billion, individuals – $177.22 million.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, aluminum and aluminum products, as well as fruits and vegetables in 2017.

During the period, import totaled $8.78 billion, which is more than in 2016. Some $1.19 billion accounted for the state sector share in import operations, and $7.1 billion – for the private sector, $487.97 million – for individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly imported various machines, vehicles, ferrous metals, plastic and pharmaceutical products during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations increased by 27.8 percent and amounted to $22.59 billion in 2017, as compared to 2016. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $5.03 billion, which is 8.2 times more than in the same period last year.
