Kazakhstan Railways JSC transported 352,000 tons of grain in the first half of April 2018, 240,000 tons account for Kazakhstan’s export, Kazakh media outlets reported.
Growth in the volume of grain transportation amounted to 7.8 percent, compared to the same period in 2017.
The list of goods transported by Kazakhstan Railways in the mentioned period also includes 878,000 tons of construction cargo (20.4 percent more year over year), 1.1 million tons of iron ore (23.2 percent more year over year), 4 million tons of coal (6.4 percent more than in the same period of the previous year), of which 1.2 million tons were exported.
Kazakhstan Railways transported 10 million tons of goods in the first half of April 2018, which is 8.7 percent more, compared to the same period of 2017. The company also transported 70, 3 million tons of cargo since the beginning of 2018.
Freight turnover of Kazakhstan Railways in 15 days of April 2018 increased by 10.6 percent year over year and amounted to 8.9 billion ton-km. The company’s cargo turnover since the beginning of the year amounted to 61.8 billion ton-km.
