Uzbekistan and New Zealand are planning to prepare and sign agreements on trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation, mutual protection and promotion of investments, avoidance of double taxation, and a number of others documents, Uzbek media reported citing the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

The two sides discussed future agreements during the meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan with Ambassador of New Zealand Ian Alexander Hill.

“The meeting focused on topical issues of the Uzbek-New Zealand agenda and prospects for its expansion. The parties noted a significant untapped potential for the development of bilateral relations in all areas of cooperation,” the Foreign Ministry noted.

Both sides are equally interested and see real prospects, despite the geographic remoteness of countries, in building mutually beneficial trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties, including in agriculture, alternative electricity, tourism, science and education, drawing on the best practices of the New Zealand.
