The Zagatala hazelnut processing factory will sign a contract to export its products to Switzerland, director of the enterprise Ramazan Garajayev told Trend.

He said that the company is engaged in processing hazelnuts, which is intended mainly for export to foreign markets.

"At present, our products are exported to Italy and Russia, and soon we plan to export hazelnut kernels to the Swiss market. The initial supply volumes will be relatively small, but we will expand production from the beginning of next year. Now our capabilities allow us to export approximately 1,000-1,500 tons of finished products, but we can double this figure. In the future, the export volumes can reach 2,500-3,000 tons of finished products annually," he said.

Garajayev noted that the state pays great attention to the development of hazelnut growing, since this industry is a traditional and profitable area of agriculture.

"With the state support, we participate in various international exhibitions several times a year. For example, last year our products were presented in Germany, this year we also met with our partners in Russia. Before the end of this year, we were invited to participate in international exhibitions in Shanghai and France. Within the framework of such events, we not only advertise our products, but also find potential buyers," Garajayev said.

“Due to their quality and taste, our products are in high demand in Italy, and the next month, we plan to sign a new contract with Italian partners. At the moment, the negotiations are underway, we are negotiating the supply volumes and financial issues,” Garajayev said.

He noted that the products of the factory have a certificate of conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan.

"We also have a confirmation code under the number AZE 6231 120 for exporting products to the countries of the European Union," the director of the factory said.

The modern equipment made in Turkey is used at the company.
