In September 2018, the volume of exchange and over-the-counter trading in Uzbekistan amounted to 46.8 billion soums (431 transactions), over $5.7 million, of which 46.7 billion soums (418 transactions) account for exchange trading and 161.25 million soums (13 deals) – for over-the-counter trading, the Uzbek analytical company Portfolio Investments said in a report.
According to the information, 418 transactions with shares of 51 listed joint-stock companies were conducted in exchange trading.
The banking sector traditionally remains the leader in terms of trading volume in September 2018 with the total volume of transactions amounting to 37.74 billion soums with a share of 80.86 percent of the total exchange turnover (162 transactions). The second place is held by the food sector due to the transaction with the shares of Xorazm shakar JSC [Khorezm Sugar] with a volume of 7.1 billion soums with a share of 15.21 percent of the total stock exchange turnover.
In September 2018, the volume of over-the-counter trading amounted to 0.16 billion soums. A total of 13 transactions with shares of 9 different issuers were carried out.
