Iran's crude steel production increases by 20 percent

Iran's crude steel production increased by 20 percent in the first nine months of 2018, according to statistics released by the World Steel Association, IRNA reported citing the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

From January to the end of September 2018, the Islamic Republic of Iran produced 18,520,000 tons of crude steel.

This figure was 15,431,000 tons in the same period of 2017.

Iran's crude steel production reached two million tons in September 2018, showing a 4.3 percent increase compared to the same month of 2017 (1,918,000 tons).

In the first nine months of 2018, 64 countries produced 1,346,987,000 tons of crude steel. This is a 7.4 percent increase compared to the same months of 2017 (1,253,739,000 tons).
