10 Industrialization Map projects launched in Kazakhstan's Turkistan region

The main socio-economic indicators of Kazakhstan’s Turkistan region grew in 2018, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.

For instance, the gross regional product in January-September 2018 amounted to 1.1 trillion tenge, which is more than a two-fold increase compared to the same period of 2017.

As part of the Industrialization Map, 10 projects worth 18.2 billion tenge were launched in the Turkistan region in 2018.

In particular, an enterprise for polyethylene terephthalate waste processing and staple fiber production, a plant for camel milk processing, a brick factory, and a workshop for ice cream and chocolate production were launched in the region.

In addition, a fish processing plant, a knitting yarn production plant, an agricultural processing workshop, a butter and skimmed milk powder production plant, as well as a mineral water and soft drinks production plant were launched.

It should also be noted that the volume of industrial production in the Turkistan region in 2018 amounted to 439.1 billion tenge. In particular, the output of the manufacturing industry totaled 236.9 billion tenge, which is more than a two-fold increase compared to 2017.

At the same time, production of food increased by 3.6 percent, light industry goods by 6.3 percent, chemicals by 7 percent, pharmaceuticals by 4 percent, and electrical equipment by 7.3 percent.
