By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:
Iran produces 500,000 square meters of glass daily, Mohammad Ali Ghanbari, Chairman of Tehran Association of Glass and Mirror Cooperative Companies, told the Young Journalists Club (YJC), Trend reports.
According to Ghanbari, about 40 percent of the production is exported to the Gulf countries, Central Asia, Turkey and Europe.
Ghanbari added that 100 percent of the raw materials required for glasses and mirrors are provided domestically.
"One of the good sides of glass processing is the control of the private sector over this area. The government does not interfere," he said.
Ghanbari said that the sphere of production of glass for bus stops, tables, or that of bulletproof glass and other products, reflects the diversity of this field.
