Trilateral agreement to be signed on Safe City project in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, Huawei and a number of foreign investors will soon sign a trilateral agreement on the implementation of the Safe City project in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Podrobno.uz.

“Now we are making calculations together with the Ministry of Finance for this project. At the same time, negotiations are underway with Chinese investors who are planned to be attracted to this initiative,” said Davron Azizov, director of public relations and corporate communications of Huawei in Uzbekistan.

According to him, at the first stage of the project, an investment of $300 million is being discussed.

During the recent visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to China, it became known that the Chinese companies Huawei and CITIC Guoan Information Technology plan to invest over $1 billion in the development of the digital infrastructure of Uzbekistan.

These funds will be used to develop e-government, digital economy, information technology, telemedicine and IT telephony.

Mirziyoyev praised the use of artificial intelligence technologies, and also inquired about the fate of projects that have already been implemented in Uzbekistan in cooperation with Huawei, and how the company trains specialists.
