By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Batumi becomes the second city in Georgia after Tbilisi, where an electric car sharing service will be available, said Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, Trend reports with reference to bm.ge.

The Prime Minister visited Batumi at the presentation of the car-sharing service of AiCar, electric car rental services, which delivered 20 units of the Renault Zoe electric car to Batumi. Eight filling stations were installed on the territory of the Batumi railway station and two in the Kobuleti district of the city.

“In Tbilisi, as in other cities of the world, such service is becoming increasingly popular. I am glad that AiCar is starting to function in Batumi,” said the prime minister.

AiCar is part of the AiGroup holding, the presentation of which Mamuka Bakhtadze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze held on April 6, 2019. The holding, which unites the companies AiEnergy, AiCar, AiPower and AiProduction, plans to start production of its own electric vehicles, build solar power stations and a network of charging stations for electric cars. The company intends to rent electric cars out throughout Georgia.

Via car sharing service, a free car can be found through the mobile application and rented for a short time. At this stage, about 300 AiCar electric cars are available for sharing in Tbilisi. The car fleet of the car-sharing operator is expected to reach 3,000 cars.
