Iran discloses volume of cargo shipped and discharged at Iranian port

Some 12.4 million tons of oil and non-oil products have been shipped and discharged at the Imam Khomeini port in Iran’s south-western Khuzestan province since the beginning of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019) till Aug. 14, Ravanbakhsh Behzadian, director general of the department on port issues of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization, said.

The volume of the shipped and discharged cargo increased by 22 percent since the beginning of this Iranian year till Aug. 14 compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Behzadian added, Trend reports to the organization’s website.

Behzadian added that 141 ships were carrying essential products since the beginning of this Iranian year, which is by 72 percent more compared to the same period of last Iranian year.

The volume of the main products imported since the beginning of this Iranian year till Aug. 14 reached 6.98 million tons, which is 64 percent more compared to the same period of last year, he said.
